I studied commercial art in art school, and I was in my 20's (scared of being a starving artist!), but I still wanted to be a fine artist. As I improved my drawing skills, I sold my western drawings at events around the country. I always loved watercolor, but I was intimidated by the lack of good information. Most watercolor I saw was, well, watery! I wanted to build deep rich colors and values, and paint in a realistic style. After a few years, of practicing and learning about color, I started selling my watercolors at art shows. I quickly started winning competitions and getting accepted into publications. As a self-taught watercolor artist, this was so exciting to be recognized! My greatest accomplishment to date was being included in the 22nd annual edition of "Watercolor Splash 22: The Best of Watercolor" in 2020. All that hard work paid off! I am excited to share my years of painting and creating watercolors that glow!
