About the Book
Lots of planning went into each look prior to pressing the shutter. Emma has not only taken the photographs, she also styled the models and their surroundings, or found suitable locations for outdoor shoots, planned and applied the make-up, built wigs and hairpieces, and made many of the props, including some of the clothing. The finished book has eye-catching images of strong and deadly women.
Emma gained a Fellowship with the Royal Photographic Society in 2018 for her ‘Deadly’ images. Once the Fellowship project was completed, a selection of the many photographs amassed between 2014 and 2020 were carefully curated into this book.
I am a Bath based published photographer specializing in alternative fashion and beauty including artistic nudes, and semi-nude. My work often incorporates fantasy outfits and body painting. I make most of the outfits, headdresses and other accessories myself as well as doing the make-up for the models. A lot of preparation and work goes into a shoot before getting anywhere near a camera. My work was first published in the late nineties, both in magazines, and within a range of glossy coffee table books and on the cover of many novels. Many people have bought my work to hang on their walls. Four of my own books have also been published which are collections of my photographs, Kinky Couture 2003, Kinky Nature 2010, both published by Goliath Books and Curves 2013, which is available to buy from Blurb Books. In 2018 I gained a Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society (FRPS) Distinction for my work in the Applied category.
