This soft-cover book is one of the most comprehensive anthologies of the work of the early 20th century architect, Julia Morgan (1872-1957). Julia Morgan, FAIA led the field of architecture by being a series of firsts, the first women to receive a degree in civil engineering, with honors, from the University of California at Berkeley in 1894, the first women in the world to graduate from the famed Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1902, again with honors, the first women to receive an architecture license in California in 1904, and now the first women to win the AIA Gold medal in the 164 year history of the American Institute of Architects which was presented to her posthumously in 2014.
