About the Book
These vibrantly colored, graphically composed images were photographed during five weeks from mid-October to mid-November, 2009, on a journey through the desert state of Rajasthan in western India. This section of the country has always thrilled me and I have returned often. Colors are intense in Rajasthan--tikka powder, turbans, saris, camel decorations--even little blue boys with red lips dressed as the Hindu god Shiva during the Pushkar Camel Fair. Come with me on a journey through awesome Rajasthan to celebrate this color.

I’m a visual artist and travel photographer with no permanent residence to call home. Once again I’ve embarked on a ten year, non-stop vagabond journey to photograph extraordinary destinations around the globe. I love this life. I travel light. My bag holds just a few changes of clothes, a 17-inch MacBook Pro computer and only one Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera with five lenses. This is my second such journey in the past two decades. I’m so appreciative to have had my photos published more than 60,000 times in a majority of the world's leading travel publications. Earlier this decade I launched the Stock Artists Alliance (the only trade association representing stock photographers worldwide) and I’m active in the Soka Gakkai International (SGI), a lay Buddhist organization dedicated to peace, culture and education.
