Notes on Doors and Windows

There is something that occasionally happens while listening to instrumental music, whether it is the piano, guitar, flute, orchestra, etc. At times we can find ourselves entering into an intense experience of the ambience created, somehow residing in a state between the land of the tangible and the land of daydreams. In such a state music can become a door or a window into deepening emotional or spiritual dimensions, beyond words or intellectual understanding but nevertheless real.
