About the Book
Barns are a recent discovery for me, but I have tried to capture them in all their glory, through the seasons, at various times of day, in different weather conditions. They are so full of character: derelict, abandoned, colorful, uniquely framed and working farms are included in this collection.
This volume features the barns in late winter and early spring, and contains 87 renderings.
Stéphane Hogue is a writer, artist and photographer. His photos have been published in the Montreal Gazette, the Hudson Gazette, and the Local Journal. Although primarily a landscape and nature photographer, he has recently developed an interest in barns, the more derelict the better. This book is the result of this new found passion. Stéphane has a Masters Degree in philosophy from McGill University. During his 25 years as a photographer, he has travelled across North America and Iceland creating images. He resides in Hudson, Qc with Karen and Kyle. He is active in the community, volunteering with Scouts Canada, ALS Quebec, and the David Suzuki Foundation.
