My name is Terry Lindsey. I am a 30 year old Black American, who was born and raised on the East side of KCMO. I learned at a young age, even without a weapon, I would still be viewed as armed and dangerous due to the color of my skin. The fear of not knowing if I would make it to see 26 weighed on my mind day in and day out. Not because of the gang violence within Kansas City, but because of the violence towards Black men in America. The biggest threat I do pose is through my lense. I do not hesitate to tell the stories of others. It is my purpose to document the current circumstances and seek the change we need. My photos give viewers the truth, and the truth gives them no other choice but to change
