About the Book
The Jewellery Quarter lies about one mile from the centre of Birmingham, UK. It has been the centre of the British jewellery industry for over 200 years. While it remains home to over 700 jewellers and independent retailers, many of the workshops and factories have closed in the last few decades. Now, redundant buildings have been or are being converted to apartments and the area is also home to coffee shops, bars and boutique hotels.
In black and white photographs, this book explores some of the Quarter’s textures in this period of profound change.
