Texts in English and French / Textes en anglais et français

    English:
The Maasai people are a famous community in East Africa. Facing a political and economic model which pushes away Maasai ancestral morals, the Maasai people grow towards a hazardous future and requires a transition. Alternatives to the age-old customs of a well-anchored culture struggle to settle.
ASHÊ is a short photographic collection rising from an encounter with Maasai people. Revealing humanitarian issues and a clash of civilizations, this book first and foremost evokes an extraordinary community.

    Anne-Catherine Clerc

By discovering new cultures and immersion in foreign countries, Anne-Catherine has found a self-fulfillment through travel and photography. Each country has its own culture, beliefs and environment. The encounters with local people are an enormous pit of emotions and an incredible source of inspiration. Her career as a biologist has very little contributed to her abilities as a reporter but has sharpen her curiosity and made her deeply think about the world we live in. Therefore as an amateur photographer and a neophyte narrator, she is eager to share these extraordinary encounters and memories with readers.
