James is serving a prison sentence for a robbery he did not commit. James tries hard to stay optimistic about his situation, and he finds great peace in the natural surroundings of the hospital where he is being housed. He also enjoys his friendship with John, one of the guards, who is quite kind and gives him some extra privileges.
