Tobias was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. Roots that are rich in ecclectic culture in the arts both musically and visually. After spending many years as a professional musician and recording producer/engineer, photography was all but literally stumbled into. The path into photography was out of necessity to create commissioned art work for theater posters for an entire season of performances for a local theater. A camera had to be borrowed from a friend to complete the work.

From this humble start, his photography portfolio has grown and is now what defines Tobias. Having embraced photography as an endevour of art, his approach to creating images is one that can only be described as; aware of moments, sensitive, and of a timeless quality.
