Janice Levy is a Professor in the Department of Media, Arts, Sciences and Studies in the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College.
Levy’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and her photographs and writing have been published in textbooks, magazines, and online. Levy was awarded “First Place” in the 2016 IPA “Family of Man” competition (category Marriage). She received first place in the highly critical Photo Review 2013 Photo Competition for her photographs of Saudi Arabia. A two-week workshop in Antigua (2012) resulted in the publication of “MY ANTIUGA: An Island Revealed,” a 200 page compilation of student photographs, and essays she edited and designed.
Levy is a National Kellogg Leadership Fellow XI, the recipient of a NYFA and two Light Work Grants, and in 2004, was among 12 finalists for the esteemed Honickman Book Award.
Levy holds an MFA in Photography from the U. of Michigan and a BA in Psychology from Washington University, St. Louis, MO
