Matteo Casilli was born in Rome in 1983. He lives and works in Rome.
After a Bachelor of Arts at DAMS and a Master in Photography at the Scuola Romana di Fotografia, he moved to New York where he began working as a freelance fashion photographer for various projects and beyond.
After working as an assistant for photographers such as Terry Richardson and Oliviero Toscani, he is now divided between the execution of personal work and photography for the cinema. Moreover, he works with society, customs, youth trends, realities in ethnic place of origin and immigration. In recent years, he has realized intense portraits of CEO's and executives, and personalities from business, entertainment, popular culture and books.
In 2016 he published his first photography book called "MUSICIAN", a series of black and white portraits of the new generation of Italian musicians.
In 2019 he published his second book called "Roma, Pigneto".
