Biography


Born in Moses Lake, Washington, 1972, I grow up in Salinas, California. I have been taking pictures from the age of four, when my uncle, Luis, gave me a 110-film camera on my birthday. My uncle has no idea of the impact that gift has had on me. In my teens and early twenties I did some modeling in local events and commercials for Northridge Mall in Salinas, CA. as well as other local businesses. As a result, I became conscious of the power that a click of the camera has to capture and record time. The photographers I worked with made it easy to feel comfortable being photographed. When the projects were finished and I saw myself in commercials or prints, I liked what I saw; I felt beautiful and special. It made me think that I could do the same for others.
