Charles Kiene is an award winning digital artist and photographer living in Marin County California with his wife, Kathy.

Having originally trained as a painter and traditional print maker, a common thread throughout this series are references to various periods of art history. However his love for photography began much earlier than that. Originally from Yonkers, New York, he implored his parents for a camera at age five. The very first pictures, which still survive, included carefully composed (albeit childlike) studies of the front porch and family car. Throughout the ensuing years he was always a shutterbug

A more practical life then life intervened, including an early career in high tech sales while living in Manhattan, where he frequented the museums before turning seriously to art, beginning study at the National Academy of School of Art, where he soon received a scholarship.
