About

Saundi September Wilson was born and raised in Brooklyn, the son of jazz drummer Phillip Wilson. Until fairly recently, all of his education and professional life had been spent as a musician. He started taking photographs while living in Paris, and he believed he'd discovered a brand new passion. But it was simply a leap in his evolution as a creative person. And over the past few years, the connection between photography and music has come into stark relief... He has had a photo chosen as a Smithsonian Magazine editor’s pick. His work has been featured in the NY Photo Festival Capture Brooklyn exhibit at Powerhouse Arena, and most recently at the Sony World Photography Exhibit (at Somerset House, London)- the World Photography Organisation selected Saundi’s work from 52,323 images selected from 171 countries. Saundi is currently a photographer at El Diario la Prensa, the oldest Spanish language newspaper in the country.
