Martin Laird is an artist, photographer, film-maker, and award-winning animator from Orkney. His work is featured regularly in The Orkney News and iScot magazine.

Since 2017, along with Fiona Grahame (editor of The Orkney News) and Cary Welling (Northlight Gallery), Martin has contributed to events held in association with St. Andrew's Fair Saturday. Their illustrated book about the Rousay Clearances in Orkney was created to accompany the Fair Saturday exhibition for 2020. Fair Saturday exists as a socially conscious counterpoint to the consumerism of Black Friday.
