About the Book
Bhutan, the Himalayan Kingdom where the people’s happiness is as important as the development of the economy. It’s been a long held ambition to visit this tiny country sandwiched between India and Tibet. I was intrigued by its people, culture, Buddhism and the landscape. Any country that measures Gross National Happiness as an indicator of success and has designated a national park for the Yeti had to be explored.
In October 2012, my dream to visit Bhutan was realised. Along with my husband, Paul, eight other photographers and our two Bhutanese guides, we travelled from the east of country to the west, taking just over two weeks. This book reflects my impressions of Bhutan: the places, people and objects that caught my imagination.
