About the Book
My recent photographic series "Written in Stone" investigates how history can be read from the stones that make up the buildings, streets, and monuments of a country. This project is a result of traveling around Scotland for a month. Each image is presented with a short description of the history that lies just beneath the surface.

Jeffrey Opp
Fargo, North Dakota
Jeffrey J. Opp was born in Minot, North Dakota. After High School, he joined the U.S. Navy where he severed overseas in Sicily. Currently, Opp is based in Fargo, North Dakota and is a student at Minnesota State University Moorhead seeking a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography. Opp is striving to become a successful self-employed photographer. He begins photography projects by doing historical research and incorporates that research in to the context of his work. Opp states: “My main motivation to create photographs is rooted in an intense desire to explore and understand the world around me. I use the camera as a tool for discovery.”
