We first met the grandmother and her family in 2009 - photos from the first half of the book are from that chance meeting with them. In 2011 we returned to Vinh Tuy to see them again. Ba Nguyen Thi Cat greeted us with a big smile - she is the matriarch of this large family and told us she is 87 years old. We unknowingly arrived on the 10th anniversary of the grandmother's mother's death. The second half of the book are photographs taken on that day.
