About the Book
Joyce Power is a Healdsburg artist recognized for her serene interpretation of the Northern California landscape, in particular the seasons of the vineyards in the surrounding valleys. Her paintings observe the passages of nature and the work of man and give thanks that in this place they form a harmonious whole.
Her keen appreciation of California comes from a childhood spent enduring the bleak winters of a Canadian mining town. Joyce Power studied art in Toronto and London, and was a student of Clark Mitchell, Sonoma County's foremost landscape pastel artist. She works with soft pastels, oils and acrylics. Her work has appeared in galleries and juried exhibitions in the Bay Area, and is held in private collections in the United States, Canada and Europe.
