Boredom in the 21st Century
It has become apparent to me that although we have advanced technologically to the point where there is an excess of stimuli to distract us, we humans still get bored. Before such advanced technology, people had to find creative ways to occupy themselves and meet others. I wanted to explore this boredom by taking my camera out with me for a walk, which i usually do when i am feeling “stir crazy”. The pictures are of others but from what i observed they reflect a similar sense or feeling within me. The streets are a wonderful stage for taking portraits. There is something to be said about wandering around and looking at people and because Kelowna is such a small city it’s likely that i cross paths with many warm and familiar faces strolling about.
