About the Book
Driven by admiration and curiosity of the beautiful clay houses, mosques and your way of life.
I sneaked through Djenné in silence. You were so kind to let me do so.
It felt like an honor!

About the Creator
Albert Roosenburg Born at Eysden, the Netherlands, studied agri- and horticulture, next garden- and landscape design to practice the latter some years. Finished the Rietveld Academy in 1973 and started a studio in Amsterdam as free-lance photographer working for the leading glossy magazines and some publicity agencies. The commercial world stimulated me to fly away for a while so my hunger for travelling could unfold further. Spent all my money, bought a Toyota jeep to cross the Sahara desert. By living very basically both moneywise and mentally gave me the possibility to pursue my fascination and curiosity for other people and cultures while passing through the most beautiful countries and landscapes. Travelled 70,000 KM on this trip through Africa and the Middle East. Still travelling all over the world between -30 and +50° Celsius or working in my studio in a cosy village near Amsterdam, creating still lives, trying to catch somebody's emotion in that split second.
