About the Creator
I was born and raised in historical Winchester, Virgina, located in the northern Shenandoah Valley. As a child I took ballet, piano and trumpet lessons. During my high school years I joined the band and chorus, knowing that music would be my major in college. At this time I was organist and choir director for St. Pau'ls Episcopal Church, writing plays and musicals for the youth. After taking courses at Shenandoah Conserveratory, in 1973 I met my husband and we decided to marry in 1974. I attended DePaul University during the summer of 1974. In the fall I applied for a position as music teacher at Highland School. Here I wrote and directed plays and musicals until my son was born in 1979. I elected to remain at home with him and iI was during this time, I began research and writing Storm Over Fauquier. Being a living historian & performing in TV/movie/miniseries, contributed to this research. Working in Spotsylvania County as a reading para, I continue to write for my classes.
