When I was seventeen, I began to photograph Nicole a former sixth grade classmate of mine. We met by chance on the street in Manhattan, and she told me she was supporting herself by working as a topless dancer in Manhattan.

Nancy Siesel is a Pulitzer prize winning photojournalist awarded this honor in 2002 while she was a staff photographer with The New York Times as part of their 9/11 series. Her work has been published in four New York Times books including “How Race is Lived in America”, and “A Century in Times Square”. She is currently working on a documentary film "The Man Corporations Love to Hate".
