...in the course of collecting Russian porcelain for Central Asian market and writing this book the author has formulated another independent artistic movement or direction. The author is very determined to give Russian porcelain for Central Asian market a status of movement in art , in this case, Industrial Art, as we are definitely talking here of a group of artists who agree on general principles as well as historical and geographical context. And this is just the name for this artistic movement: Ceramics of the Great Game.



It’s coined. However, needless to say that it is not a difficult task to draw the connection between Gardner porcelain and the Great Game; researchers all over the world are doing that. My brand, my intellectual property is the invention of the term Ceramics of the Great Game.



The author is looking for a sponsorship to publish his illustrated study on Gardner, 16,500 words, based on this catalogue. Porcelain has been much written about these days, including Russian porcelain, however, this is not just another book on porcelain. This is the first serious attempt to summarize the existing knowledge about Russian Gardner porcelain. The story of the Russian porcelain made for Central Asian market was presented in the context of the Great Game, the Anglo-Russian political rivalry in Central Asia at the turn of the 20th century. This is the first book of this nature.
