About the Book
[( 6 )] features the work of six independent photographic artists: Tanya Ahmed, Dewald Botha, Keith Greenough, Nigel Haworth, Pete Mansell and Rob™.
Their collective work explores social themes through differing approaches to photography and art. They came together for the weekend of 16th - 18th September, 2016, to record their experience and thoughts of Oxford, England, before being exhibited in Oxford, Canada, in October.
Rob™ is a photographic artist living in the rural North-West of England. After leaving school, I studied graphic design before moving into a career in engineering, initially as a designer and subsequently as a certification specialist. A number of years ago, I picked up a camera again in order to break away from the rigid constraints and structure of the technical and back into something more creative. My aim is to record the journey, the road trip, getting from A to B geographically, temporally or metaphorically, and the things I see whilst I'm on that journey. Another recurring subject is what has been termed the “mundane” or "neutral"; those everyday things we fail to notice until someone makes an image and we are asked to stop and consider them. Occasionally I'll even try different things. My work has been exhibited around the UK, and work is held in both public and private collections in the UK and Europe.
