    About the Book

    Edit

A Field Guide to Postwar Murals is the first book to explore the fantastic world of postwar mural art in Britain. The fifties and sixties were times of experimentation with new materials and forms, the meeting of art and architecture in a colourful outburst of exciting works which carried on into the 1970s and 1980s. Using superb colour photography, the book explains where to see the best postwar murals and provides tips for searching out as-yet-unknown examples. Murals are for everyone, and this is an essential field guide.
