    About the Book

    Edit

[Deluxe Large: features premium lustre finish paper and is available in dustjacket or image wrap version] This book is also available in a handy and affordable 7 inch version.

28 Drawings Later is a showcase of drawings from a public art event which took place on Facebook and in the blogosphere during February 2011.

The challenge was to commit to drawing something, however basic, every day during the 28 days of February and was open to artists and non-artists alike.

The event was created by Victoria Evans, an artist based in Glasgow, Scotland and it attracted participants from as far afield as Canada and South Africa with ages ranging from pre-schoolers to retirees.

The results show a stunning wealth of subjects and styles and a broad interpretation of what drawing is . The book contains a selection of the participants' favourites - an inspiration to anyone who enjoys drawing.

    Victoria Evans

Victoria Evans is an artist based in Glasgow, Scotland. Victoria is engaged with ideas around time, simultaneity, complexity and embodied perception, particularly where these concepts touch on the subjective and mutable nature of reality. Often implicit in her work is the dialectical relationship between interiority and exteriority. With a background in narrative film and television, Victoria completed a Masters Degree in Sculpture and Environmental Art at Glasgow School of Art in 2015. Her approach combines the opposing traditions of psychological absorption and physical immersion in audience experience and she works with a shifting combination of time-based media, stand-alone objects and site-responsive installation. The interplay of sculptural, painterly and cinematic concerns is central to her practice, but she also engages in photography, painting and drawing, book-making and cross-disciplinary collaboration as either process and/or end point.
