About

Artist, writer and curator. Louise Marchal has over twenty-five years experience as an artist and designer working to commission and has exhibited nationally and internationally. In 2013 and after many years research Louise wrote, designed and published the biography of the New Sculpture artist Frances Darlington (1880-1940). In 2014 she was awarded Arts Council funding for an installation responding to a World War One memorial by Frances Darlington at Ripon Museum.

Louise's first degree was a Scottish Masters from the University of Glasgow, with Honours in English Literature, including the study of Art History and Medieval History. Louise studied Philosophy for a year at the University of Leeds and holds two subsequent Masters degrees in Fine Art and Curatorial Practice from the University of Sunderland.
