About the Book
A mine of useful information and practical help for anyone involved in judging photographic competitions.
Compiled from 25 years of practical experience.
Possibly unique: there has been very little else published on the subject.
Ken Holland is a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society, and is a member of the panel which awards RPS distinctions. He has been awarded a Distinction from the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain. He was awarded a national Gold Medal from the PAGB for the best monochrome print. He has exhibited locally and nationally, including at the Royal Photographic Society members' gallery. His work has been published in a wide variety of books, magazines and journals. He is an Honorary Life Member of Dawlish & Teignmouth Camera Club: he is frequently invited to lecture and judge at Camera Clubs, and has taught City & Guilds courses. He became interested in photography at a very young age, and has always regarded it as a form of expression. It has the unique ability to capture a brief moment in time. He believes that a photograph should be more than just a beautiful image: it should inform or challenge the viewer.
