Twig Capra is a self-portrait artist currently attending the School of Visual Arts in New York City, pursuing her BFA in Photography. Growing up in Abilene Texas, she found friends amongst the faeries in her father's rose garden and her grandmother's poetry books. She still believes in them today. Just around the corner from her twentieth birthday and impending adulthood, she vows to move to Neverland and become a mermaid. Drawing inspiration from novels, poetry, films, music, dance, all forms of visual art, and an overactive imagination, she creates narrative vignettes of fiction (and if they are true, she'd never tell). The fantasy nature of her work questions the selective reality each artist chooses to portray for themselves, and extends beyond into the personal connection each artist creates in relation to their own work.



The pages of this book are full of her dreams and nightmares, and everything in between. Open them, and maybe a little bit will escape into your own reality.
