About the Book
From 9th July to 2nd Aug 2010 I undertook a 25-day solo cycle ride from Cheltenham to the north of Scotland and back. Along the way I explored the Scottish islands of Arran, Mull and Rum, covering a total distance of 1,784 miles.
As well as cycling, I spent several days hiking en-route. The journey involved plenty of adventure, especially when I came across scary scrambling on Arran's A'Chir ridge before almost getting flooded out of my tent the next day! Fortunately I was woken just in time.
Throughout the tour I witnessed fantastic views and sunsets in many unspoilt and beautiful locations, saw marvellous landscapes and found wild places in Scotland I never knew existed. This book provides a detailed account of the trip accompanied by photographs taken en-route.
