About the Book
Following his two previous works, "When we were free" and "Fifty-five days in Africa", this is the author’s third homage to Africa’s charismatic megafauna, again in the shape of a large format coffee table book. What set’s this apart is that for the first time ever, the focus is on eastern Africa. Owing to his love for felines, the big cats are, once again, prominently featured. Granted, there are other beautiful animals to be seen, but very few, it seems, can display such a variety of facial expressions or behaviors as the big cats.

About the Creator
Norbert Berndt
Tampa, FL, USA
I was born and raised in Düsseldorf, Germany, where I went to school and obtained a PhD in biochemistry. I moved to Scotland for postdoctoral training and then to the US to pursue an academic career in cancer research in both California and then Florida. My interest in photography goes back to my childhood days when I started to take my first pictures with my dad's SLR camera, an East German Praktica. Over the next several decades, I became more and more ambitious, and meanwhile I am pretty well equipped with Nikon gear. Now freshly retired, I can devote even more time to my passion. I live with my wife and two cats in Tampa, Florida, USA.
