About the Book
This project began on the first day of early voting in Brooklyn in October of 2020 and was initially completed on Inauguration Day in 2021. The first and final two images were made on the day before and day after a Manhattan jury found the former president guilty of thirty-four felony counts of falsifying business records in order to corrupt the 2016 election. It was inspired by the determination of ordinary New Yorkers to prevent a second Trump term in office. It celebrates a commitment to the electoral process, rule of law, a peaceful transition of power, and the joy and relief of victory albeit delayed. The proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to efforts to elect candidates who are committed to the rule of law and a robust democracy.
