About the Book
Baba said do your best and don’t hide your light under a basket where no one can see it. He said when you do something artistic do it as if it was going to be a universally recognized Masterpiece, from your heart. That way you will be utilizing your utmost, and then go from there. Otherwise, what’s the point? We’re not parrots, but individually distinct lovers each with a fresh bouquet to offer to our Beloved.
“Bold Sojourner” is my try - one amidst the untold many multitudes of others who have tried, all raising our hands like the “know it all” at school.
So that’s my excuse anyway, and I’m sticking to it. This book contains 3 books in their entirety in a single book. I thank Baba as He is the blessing of strength that empowered me to persevere, despite difficult odds.
90 per centof “Psalms of the Heart” was written in 1977 as my Master’s thesis when I was 24. The rest was written sporadically over the next 10 years or so. I have been complimented on the beauty of its innocence. Yogi Bhajan, upon reading “Psalms of the Heart” wrote, “Psalms of the Heart” touched the depths of his soul and invited me to come to Solstice and sit with him at the semi-yearly festival.
“The Dust of Love” contains poems that were written as far back as the early 70’s to 2021, but written primarily from 2013-2021. In it I struggle with trying to appeal to a secular audience with a spiritual language that might somehow bridge the gap. What I learned was a true experiential meaning of the words: “You can’t serve two Masters.”
In “Palace OM”, I take the kid gloves off. I just let it fly, no holds barred in my awakening to Meher Baba’s Avataric manifestation mission. The book is in a loose chronological diary format spanning one year, attempting to delineate in poetic terms, the deeper aspects of this inner relationship as was experienced by the author during that particular block of time in Baba.
