About the Book
Esmeralda, who is not only her housekeeper but a supportive friend, shares stories with Maria on a daily basis in hopes of renewing her memories about her life before the accident. Javier, Maria’s husband, is a self absorbed man who is obsessed with making money and gaining power. He struggles with managing his Human Trafficking business and providing Maria with the attention she needs for her recovery.
After months of recovering, Maria starts to feel like she can move on until strange things begin to happen. She starts questioning everything when she comes across old photographs, hidden rooms in her house and questionable stories from her ‘friends’.
Over time she struggles to trust her husband, the stories told to her, and is besieged by recurring ‘dreams’. Eventually, Maria learns the truth about her medical condition, her husband’s business of human trafficking and her former life.
Dena McDonald lives in Missouri with her husband of 30 years and has two adult sons who have moved on to live their own adventures. She is a photographer by trade but dabbles in acrylic painting and writing in her spare time. She has always been a creative person and considers herself to have an overactive imagination. Her first book, SOLD, is based off a dream from 20 years ago that she has never forgotten.
