      About the Book

      Edit

PUBLISHER NOTE: The text was first published in 2012 as a 'coffee table book', (now out of print). This edition is revised for 2021 as a delightful paperback pocket guide. (Part of a trilogy of guides including Discovering The Dorset Coast and Discovering The Mendip Hills). With all embracing text the book allows the reader to discover the Lleyn Peninsula, with a Foreword written by HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. The images showcase this beautiful Welsh region at its most extraordinary and unspoilt best in a user friendly format. Six spectacular walks are included, now with OS mapping, to allow the reader to experience the area first-hand. Historic towns, quaint fishing villages, Iron Age forts and standing stones make up this extraordinary landscape where ancient tracks can still to be found, the landscape enhanced by numerous white-washed farms and a patchwork of enclosed fields. The historic text and captivating images will delight both tourists to the area and proud locals. The Lleyn Peninsula, the arm in the Irish Sea extends some 30 miles west from Snowdonia in North West Wales and is no more than 8 miles wide, giving easy access to the contrasting north and south coast. The area was designated an area of outstanding natural beauty (ANOB) in 1956, and due to the remoteness of the area it has remained unspoilt.

Well I'm sure you don't want me to ramble on about myself in anticipation you've visited to check what books are available for your indulgence. The only thing I would say is that I write about the things I have a passion for. One being music, to be more precise 'Skinhead Reggae'. I can honestly say I was there between 68 -72. I Suppose I could declare "been there, done that and got the tee shirt. Or perhaps that should read Ben Sherman, which incidentally if you do get around to reading 'The History of Skinhead Reggae' you will notice I still possess. My latest foray is a story about a young lad who's unable to identify or sympathise with his peer group of hippies and bikers then he discovered the skinhead culture and reggae in the spring of 1969. Our Boss is certainly no choir boy. He's not excessively aggressive but has acquired a penchant to demonstrate an overload of high jinks. Is it Biographical? Well if asked I will elucidate the characters and events are all fictional.
