Ed Snyder has been making photographs since the late 1970s, and began exhibiting them in 1982 through the Phoenix Street Gallery in New York. Since moving to Philadelphia in 1984, he has exhibited his work through such venues as the Jun Gallery, Community Cultural Center/USA Gallery, the Philadelphia Sketch Club, and Plastic Club.

Mr. Snyder is a Biomedical Engineer at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, where he is involved in research, development, and clinical practice of advanced cardio-pulmonary life support for babies. With cemetery photography, then, his interests literally run from the cradle to the grave. The bridge? No matter how disparate medicine and art may appear, there is a connectedness--while they are not considered sciences, there is a precision to each, borne of technology, that is necessary for their success.
