Based in the UK and Ireland, Simon is a photographer with over thirty years of experience. He began his professional career as a documentary photographer working for UK newspapers and magazines before spending five years in advertising. He eventually developed a specialism in heritage photography and now combines this with editorial and documentary projects together with frequent commercial commissions. His work has been published in National Geographic, the Observer Magazine and the Sunday Times Magazine, in addition to numerous other books, magazines and partworks. His photographic work has also been exhibited in over 20 countries.

Simon is a graduate of Blackpool College of Art (HND), the Open College of the Arts (BA), and Saint Martin's School of Art (MA). In 1985 he was a BIPP Student Photographer of the Year and in 1991 became a KODAK Professional Photographer of the Year. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society (FRPS) in 1991.
