About

An UPDATE: Ann Goodwin was a physiotherapist working in community health when she was introduced to sailing. Ann has published sailing stories in community newspapers, club magazines and newsletters. She began writing her sailing memoir when she joined a "Mentoring your Memoir" class at the Council Adult Education, Melbourne, Australia. Other class participants were writing a family history but Ann wanted to write about her sailing life. December 2016: Ann still meets with fellow writers from this CAE class and she has written her second book - a biographical novel about her great grandmother who came to Australia by sailing ship in 1849. Her first book was written in response to the many and varied questions she had received from non-sailors, both men and women. For her second book Ann chose to write about Jane Elder as no one else in the family had identified the amazing story of a woman who had lived in Victoria during the gold rush
years before travel to New Zealand in 1883.
