About the Book
This book is a collection of what I consider to be some of my best work from these years, as well of what I believe is most representative of my true focus in the realm of photography, or making pictures.
I live in and enjoy the abstract, and most certainly am inspired by and feel aligned with the work of the abstract expressionists in painting (and photography), including Mark Rothko, Aaron Siskind, Harry Callahan, Franz Kline, Robert Motherwell, Adolph Gottlieb, Barnett Newman and many others.
My music and love of sound is in almost exacting parallel with my sense of image. I believe the purity of things kept real, with the eye or ear toward the abstraction of these objects, creates a new form or object, and moves closer to it's essence, without imposition.
My work is who I am, at the time, and is pure document.
This book would not exist without the infinite inspiration and support from my sister Maggie, who was by my side for much of this period of tumult and productive transition in my life, as well as when many of these moments were captured and realized. My love and gratitude are immeasurable; immovable.
