About the Book
I started recording my child's questions a long time ago because I didn't want to forget them. Also, because they were just so interesting, and they made me think. I am so glad I did! It started with one or two every now and then when they were little, and grew from there. I posted them on Facebook, and years later added the #adriansquestions to keep track of them. Lots of people over the years have told me how much that they enjoyed them, and even looked forward to them. Some suggested that I write a book. I had no idea if I really wanted to, or even how or where to begin. I decided that I wanted to give one to Adrian for their birthday this year. After a bit of internet searching, I stumbled upon blurb. Adrian's 14th birthday is in a few days, August 19th, and hope it comes in time!
As of right now, Adrian is a non-binary teenager with autism. When I started these, they were very young, 5 or so. At first, they were unaware of what I was doing. Over the years, the questions got more and more complex, and Adrian started actively participating. I didn't know how to spell some of the words, or keep up with typing them fast enough. Adrian started helping me. They corrected my mistakes, repeated a question I forgot, and was enthusiastic about it. It became a regular topic of conversation. Why did I do this, and what was I going to do with them? Now I know.
I am by no means an author or editor, so please take this as it is. Hopefully there aren't too many typos. I'm just a mom of two kids with autism trying to enjoy the ride. It's a journey for all of us.
