About the Book
It was on Nov 21, 2012 when my best friend, Carmen, lost her mom to Myeloma. Her mom was an incredible woman - loved by so many people. All throughout her 18 year battle with cancer she remained positive and continued to show strength and love to everyone around her.
After she passed, I remember Carmen saying that when she had kids she wanted them to know her mom’s story as if they grew up around her.
Carmen has since had her first child. I decided to help her share her mom’s story by writing and illustrating a children’s book about her mom’s life.
This book - The Sunflower Queen - is for anyone who wants to teach their children about a lost loved one. It’s a soft approach to a heavy subject matter.
