About the Book
This is a book of paintings by Warwick Artist Rupam Barthakur.
It’s a celebration of live music painted “live”. Often, with just a few quick strokes Rupam captures the moment in oil paints on small homemade panels. The book is a journey from his first inspirations, to painting live in Open Mic sessions and festivals.
It is also about the musicians and the highs and lows of painting in public. Although a small volume, it has forty paintings which show the vibrancy of the local music scene and will no doubt encourage the reader to go out there and sample it for themselves.
Quote from Paul Englefield (Editor Hot Music Live): “From a few exquisitely selected confident lines and masses, every picture perfectly captured the essence of both performer and performance.”
