About the Book
Thread Is A Thought, is an exhibition book to accompany Cos Ahmet's recent exhibition. This body of work approaches the idea of the body as a container that communicates memory, emotions and gestures, where ‘body’ and ‘material’ react with each other, representing the body and self as: ‘thread' as the thought, ‘warp' as the skeleton, ‘weft' as flesh or skin, and the ‘weave’ as the body. The constant thread in the works becomes his words, thoughts, and a path to his ideas. Thoughts on Thread: An essay written by Nigel St. Clair Morgan accompanies this exhibition book. Nigel occasionally writes on woven textiles and tapestry, and has collaborated as a composer and poet with textile artists, Alice Fox and Jilly Edwards. This body of work, exhibition and book have been kindly supported by Theo Moorman Trust For Weavers, Weavers Bazaar, bg-art and Twisted Thread.
