Sofia Topchishvili is a Russian-Georgian artist based in London, who works primarily in photography. Her images uncover her own simulacra of truth. Her work is influenced by various theories about liberalism, and through her apparatus she creates paradoxical images that would trigger your subconscious. She mainly focuses on aspects of self-identity, femininity, social realism themes and concepts of free will. Her work decodes language of semiotics within the world of consumerism. She continuously determines to explore different aspects of photography and art, including moving image and mixed media installations.
