About the Book
With this body of work, my intention was to capture the sociological zeitgeist of one year in American history,1968. The year was plagued with political turmoil and rapidly shifting values between clashing generations that fractured and divided the United States of America. One generation was desperate to hold onto the world as they knew it in the face of chaos, and another desperate for change in the face of oppression. The Nation had never before been so divided on what it wanted to be. Whether it was the war in Vietnam, Civil Rights, drug transcendence and Free Love, the social climate was not short of divisive issues. The series of images and information contained in this book offer a glimpse at how these twelve crucial months transformed who we are as a people, as a Nation, and how these events are still truly relevant today.
