About the Book
Henry Gordon (Harry) Collins, the fifth child of Frederick and Catherine Collins, was born at Delamere, South Australia in 1892. Harry was 22 years old when he enlisted for World War 1 service on 22 August 1914, initially joining B Squadron of the 3rd Light Horse Regiment of the Australian Imperial Force. By March 1916 he was stationed in Egypt, and in July 1917 was attached to the Imperial Camel Corps. This letter to his younger sister May describes his experiences during the Palestine Campaign between September and December 1917.
