Earthscapes is a name for a set of books containing photographic image stories of landscapes and townscapes with a history. Being a historian, I prefer vintage, 19th century photographic techniques to bring the eyes of the past and capture a feeling of melancholy. I was educated in photography at the Photoacademy (Rotterdam/Amsterdam) in the Netherlands and got a PhD in the history of Middle and Eastern Europe.
